Haloes de Jupiter Cotes du Rhone GSM blend 2019
Tasted alongside a Bordertown Syrah and Little Gully Mr. Black’s Little book Shiraz. This is a 75% Grenache 15% Mourvedre 10% Syrah blend. On the nose it was just a medium intensity of black cherry, licorice- fresh pack of twizzlers, black pepper, and some meatiness. Grippy tannins and intense flavour. Dnpfa needs more complexity to…
Small Gully Mr. Black’s Little Book Shiraz 2017
Tasted this along side the Canadian Bordertown Syrah and a GSM blend from Cotes du Rhone’s Haloes de Jupiter Winery. This Barossa Valley syrah had scents of toasty oak, cedar, with ripe blackberry and black currant. Black pepper, baking spice, and tobacco. 15% abv The high alcohol was not overbearing with the heavier oaked style.…
St Hubertus Riesling 2019
13.8% BC Canada. Paired with Shrimp tacos! Strong citrus smells-lemon, lime, green apple, under ripe pear, wet stone minerality. Dry, high acid keeps you going back for another sip, med- body, med flavour intensity. DNPFA- Could be held onto for a little but is probably where it wants to be as far as it’s flavour…
Peppoli Chianti Classico 2019
13.5% DDOC This Chianti Classico had scents of ripe blueberry, black currant, black pepper, and a toasty nose. Med high tannin, med full body, dry, and med+ intensity on the palate. DNPFA- definitely a young wine that sit for a little while to develop more depth of flavour. Good Quality, missing some complexity and intensity.
